Curriculum and Fees
Pilgrim School and Daycare provides a safe and nurturing environment promoting the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development of young children. In our program, you will see frequent, positive, warm interactions among teachers and children, specially trained teachers and director, ongoing professional development, enough adults to respond to individual children, nutritious meals and/or snacks, a healthy and safe environment for adults and children, and regular, two-way communication with parents who are welcome visitors at all times.
Infants (six-weeks - 1 year) The first year of an infant's life provides the basis for future learning and social development. Our teachers engage in many one-to-one, face interactions with infants. By offering consistent interaction, they encourage infants to develop language ability, social confidence, and motor skills. Infants are grouped by age into Infants (6 weeks - 6 months) and Mobile Infants (6 months - 1 year).
Toddlers (1 year - 2 years) As toddlers take their first few steps, a whole new world opens up to them. Our teachers are supportive of toddlers as they acquire skills. They develop new ways to express their needs as they master the art of mobility and language. Our toddler curriculum uses monthly themes to promote social and emotional growth, language and communication skills, early cognitive skills, fine and gross motor skills and development. Toddlers are grouped by age into PreToddlers (12-20 months) and Toddlers (20 months - 2 years).
Preschool (2 years - 3 years) Children begin to develop an understanding of themselves and an awareness of the world around them in their preschool years. The activities the teachers plan on their weekly themes focus on school readiness and the development of critical literary skills. It also provides opportunities for children to demonstrate and practice their self-help skills, and make their own decisions in a safe and supportive environment. All children are assessed on their growth and development. Preschoolers are grouped by age into the 2 Year Old Program and 3 Year Old Program.
Pre-K (3 years - 5 years) Our pre-kindergarten curriculum focuses on reinforcing skills in the following areas: social and emotional development, creativity and imagination, reading and language, science, mathematics, and technology. Our environment is language-rich which supports the development of critical literacy skills and phonetic awareness. We are part of the kindergarten readiness program and we provide activities that are designed to develop each child-academically, and create a foundation of skills in which all future learning is built. Pre-K children are grouped by age into the Pre-K (3-4 Years) and Pre-K (4-5 Years).
After School and Summer Full Day (6 years - 12 years) Our after-school program and summer full day programs offer a variety of activities that promote life skills such as problem-solving, leadership, teamwork, and community service. Our curriculum is designed to develop children's knowledge and skills in all developmental areas, and to help children "learn-how-to-learn" to establish a foundation for lifelong learning.
