Pilgrim Preschool Mission

Our Mission is to provide a quality Christian education for the children in our care ages 6 weeks to Pre-K. Work in unison with families to meet the needs of the child and prepare them for their future. Expose children to learning activities that help develop the whole child: spiritually, intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.

History and Purpose of Pilgrim Preschool

Pilgrim Preschool was originally established in 1954 as a ministry of Pilgrim Congregational Church, United Church of Christ to families and children of our community. We are aware of the importance that our Heavenly Father has placed on children and the responsibility for their care and nurturing.

We provide programs of instruction, which meet the needs of the whole person in spirit, soul, and body.

We believe that during the early years the child goes through the most rapid period of growth. In everything we do, we are allowing children to experience who the Creator is. In knowing who He is, they achieve the purpose that He has for their lives. "Our children too shall serve Him, for they shall hear from us about the wonders of the Lord."

We believe that incorporating the areas of spiritual, intellectual, social/emotional, and physical growth achieves balance. Therefore, our responsibility is great and we will someday be accountable to the Father in how we shepherd His lambs. Psalm 22:30.

We Believe In:

  1. Spiritual Growth and Development (Psalm 111:10, Isaiah 55:11) Your child will be exposed to the Word of God daily. The Bible says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. The Lord tells us in Isaiah, "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

  2. Shared Home and School Responsibility (Ephesians 6:4) The parents have primary Biblical responsibility for their child's education and training. Therefore, close home and school relationship are vital. Open channels of communication are extremely important for the total well being of the child.

  3. Academic Development (Proverbs 2:1-7) Teachers strive to impart to each student an understanding and Knowledge of all fundamental areas.

  4. Social Development (John 13:34, Ephesians 5:30) God has given us a new commandment to love one another. Relationships are the foundation for effective Christian modeling to be exemplified by both students and teachers. To have an effective relationship we must follow God's commandment to love one another as the Bible explains, for we all belong to the same body; the body of Christ.

  5. Physical Development (1 Corinthians 3:16) Each child is led to an appreciation of the value and care of his body as a "temple" holy unto God.
